COMMENTS FROM OUR CLASSMATES (Edited for publication) |
Tim Peterson I thought the 50th was the best ever - from Friday night’s party on Goguac to BCCC Saturday night, everything went great. I also got to see two dear friends from the past, Bob Lett and Bob McConkie. I would bet the 5 year loss of classmates would be small. Generally, if we make it to 68, we're going to make it to 73, and 73 isn't old these days. |

Kathy Davenport Angood John and I had a tremendous time at the reunion and thank all those committee members for their hard work and dedication. Every single event was fun and I told John that I haven't been hugged that many times by that many people in my entire life. Let's have a 55th. Special thanks to Robbie and Bill for all their computer work, especially finding all of us and a word to Pat Briggs Miller for all of her work and the beauty she created for the women's luncheon and at the country club. |

David Fitjohn This was the first class reunion I attended and if they all were as great as this one, I am extremely sorry I missed the other nine. Golf Friday with Harry Rosa (from my old neighborhood), Jim Clemons, and Maury Prostie (husband of Jackie Palmiteer, also of my old neighborhood) was very enjoyable even though I did lose 5 golf balls. The mixer at the Waterfront was a wonderful place to mingle, reacquaint and socialize with classmates, many of them my former neighbors in the Post School district. The dinner dance Saturday night at the Battle Creek Country Club was a fitting finale for the reunion with a great dinner, dancing to the music of Dick Day, and the beautiful voice of songstress Shirley (Hickey) Stewart. Thanks to Bill and Robbie for tracking me down and keeping me informed about the Class of 55 events with their 1st class website. Thanks to the committee for the great job on the 50th reunion and I truly would vote for more 5 year reunions in the future. |
Our thanks to Jim Bidelman for providing us with this article. |

Roberta Griffith My thanks to Bill, Robbie, Nan and the committee for all you do. It is truly wonderful. Old friends are the best friends. The threads that bind us over the years simply are irreplaceable. Thanks again for a wonderful reunion. Bill (Woods) and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. |
Judy (Saums) Elliott I had such a wonderful time seeing everyone. The ladies luncheon, the mixer, and then the banquet plus the H.S. tour really helped being able to talk with many good friends. Tula & I had a great 7 days together. We spent many hours reminiscing the years from 2nd grade until present. We lived only a city block apart. We also have you & Robbie to thank for the endless hours you spent getting the class together via email & addresses. God Bless the class of 1955!!! |

Harry Rosa What a great time was had by all who attended the Reunion. It was great seeing everyone and reminiscing the past and what happening in their lives today. Saturday evening was the best ever. Hope we can meet again in five years. Thanks again to the Committee for their hard work. I thought the entire weekend couldn't have been done better. |

Bob McConkie We were not able to make any of the "parties" as my wife is still convalescing from the surgeries she had earlier. I did go briefly to the cocktail party, but was only able to stay for about an hour. Saw and talked to quite a few "old" friends. It was great seeing the old crowd. Hope they decide to keep having the reunions. I feel bad that I missed so many of them. God willing.....I will not miss any more. |
Shirl (Hickey) Stewart Jim and I flew (to BC) on Thursday and left on Monday...we had a great weekend seeing everyone and how they had changed...well, I guess we all did in 50 years... I sang 3 songs with the Band at the Country Club...that was fun...the place was packed...everyone had a great time and if they didn't, they were in the wrong place. Spent most of Sunday at Bonnie and Merle Pierce's playing cards and eating a wonderful dinner....great renewing old friendships.. |
Gordon Holley The reunion was a lot of fun and we did see a lot of classmates that we hadn't seen in many years. I did take some pic's and as soon as they are processed I'll send you a set. |
