It doesn't have to be a biggie. It's just about sharing with your classmates.
Please keep the news coming. I'm sometimes deleting items over six months old. Kathy Davenport Angood: John and I just got back from a week on the island in the Caribbean.... St. Lucia.... snorkeling. It was the fanciest hotel ever, but not many fish and not great snorkeling.... coral was pretty tho. Went out on a snorkel boat AM and PM and it was better than in front of the hotel. Face it.... we've been doing this for over 30 years and so it's difficult to challenge us..... We did have a ball tho, but are glad to be home with our 2 kitties, who are just forgiving us for leaving them. We’re going to Scotland in August and Michigan for four days in September. (4/30/08) Marjo Dingledine Siano: The Battle Creek Chapter of the DAR won 1st place for the Michigan American Heritage Award for the ballroom decorations and decorating which I worked on last summer and decorated on September 30. I am thrilled and thought I would share as I had written quite a while ago about it. (10425, 4/12/08) Harry Boesch’s “Gull Lake Jazz Orchestra” performed April 6 at Bayview Gardens at Gull Lake. Dennis Bracey went to hear them, as he's done many times in the past, and sat the evening with Nancy Hoffman Westcott and daughter. Denny's opinion - “These guys are fabulous.” (10419, 4/7/08) Sincere regrets to Carleton (Bo) Miller on the death of Nancy Wessinger Miller. It was a rough year for both after many good years of tennis, golf, camping, foreign travel, and many other activities. We are sad, we are sorry. Click here to read Nancy's obituary. (10407) Coach Ted Kjolhede died 2/24/08 in Mt. Pleasant. (10366) Dick Hale: Just thought I would check in. I am glad to hear about the "55th". Probably not much I can do to help from Maine, but I am offering! Continual notices about deaths of classmates saddens me. It is truly remarkable how such a short time in our lives (3-4 years of BCHS interaction) impacts our lives given everything else that we have experienced. I am still working, owning and running an electronics company. I also found retirement boring after running a large public (NYSE) electronics company for a goodly number of years. My wife and I have 4 kids and 7 grandchildren. We live in Maine on the water, race sailboats in the summer, and try to do some traveling to somewhere warm in the winter. Hope everybody is well. (10286, 12/26/07) Daniel Marshall Zook died November 28 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (10272, 12/14/07) Marjo Dingledine Siano's grandson, Jonathan Bowen, 15 years old, has accomplished his goal of visiting all 50 State capitals with a visit October 18 to Juneau, Alaska. (10244) Ross Morrison: I just checked in on the wonderful BCHS website and must say I'm very happy to see so many classmates still enjoying work. I've tried retirement three times and so far none have worked. Like some others I seem to be doomed to never retire. Carol and I are working as independent contractors (mostly for our oldest son) doing various marketing projects for a variety of companies whenever it involves Chicago and suits our desires. We both agree that our son either recognizes that "senior citizens" show up for work, or it's a sign of bad parenting and he's getting even. I'm glad to hear we're considering a 55th reunion and I look forward to seeing everyone. (10222, 10/31/07) All who sent news before October 2007 are invited to send updates. Robbie Hill Gray, the originator of this web site and its chief contributor, died July 19, 2006 after a long illness. Robbie maintained great spirit through bad times and was an inspiration to her friends, family, and classmates all the way. You can read about what she’s done for the class, as she wrote it a couple of years ago, on the “About Us” page. |
